Inspiration visits you on its own time. You cannot dictate it. You can try, but it probably won’t be authentic creativity. It will be forced and it will be seen as such.
Awakening at 2 AM with an inspirational thought is an opportunity to be embraced or ignored. This string of creative inspiration struct in February of 2025. I woke up with this ‘refrain’ “There’s a Goldmine buried in my Soul”. It was so strong, I had to get up, run to my phone in the kitchen and begin recording my next thoughts.
The next moring I played back my thoughts and my next thought was – this is not an article or a post, this is a song. That day “Goldmine” became my first song with little thought there would be more to come. Once triggered, over the next month, I wrote 6 more. Each song came as an inspiration that originated from my life experiences over the last 12 years.
Once I wrote “Goldmine” – I wrote it as a country ballad…most of the songs were country or country ‘pop’ because of the emotional tone of each one – I wanted to sing it, but I had no instrument to accompany me. Ah ha…I Googled …how do I turn my lyrics into a song? and VOILA! An AI song generator link poped up – AI-Song. I pasted the lyrics into a custom field, prompted the voice (male/female), the instruments and percussions and my lyrics came to life as a country ballad!
